photoblog image Mute swan

Mute swan

A mute swan in Kensington Gardens. Food helped to attract his attention, allowing me to take this close up shot although the longest my lens could do was 50mm (was using Jide's Sigma 18-50EX). This particular critter kept tugging at my coat to get attention and more food. Agressive little beasts they are! Now some background for the technies... it was shot at f/2.8 to blur the background as much as possible - it wasn't particularly picturesque with many people walking around. Using the setting, I could isolate the swan, and give only a hint that other waterfowl were closeby. =-= Private Comments =-= You can now leave private comments on my blog. I'm still not sure of that lens. But anyhow it's a good good portrait.

Whith Jide on this one... I've never really looked at that lens but at f/2.8 I would expect the bokeh to be better than what I see here. Looks like the eye is slightly out of focus towards the back.

Otherwise I like the shot.
