photoblog image Chains

Chains

The chains of a big ship lying along the banks of the river Thames. It is now a piece of artwork displayed near the design museum. Originally shot in colour, but converted into black and white for more dramatic effect. It wasn't originally this contrasty, I've done a bit of touching up to emphasize the shadows.

This photo was taken using my little FZ20 (little when next to my Canon DSLR at least). It seems that then it comes to selecting a photo to upload here, I tend to decide upon stuff taken with this camera. Quite surprising considering that it's an "el cheapo" camera compared to my Canon DSLR. Just goes to show that more expensive equipment doesn't neccessarily mean better photos.

Definitely more dramatic in this tone.

Better photos is all about the eye behind the camera, some of my best images I took with my old Sony DSC-V1. I'm yet to match some of them with my DSLR.

Lovely image by the way, can't fault it.

What attracts me is the rugged surface on the chains, it somehow suggest the weathering they have gone through.

Agree, some of my best shots are taken with my old Canon S30.
