Seen Toga?

This week's theme: Animals

Photo #5 - You guys are probably getting bored of my monkey shots by now (I have a few more of those actually). So I'll switch over species to this penguin at the Singapore Zoo. I read quite sadly in the metro that someone stole a baby penguin in one of the local zoos here in the UK. It's parents were pining for it for quite some time. It's name is/was Toga. So if anyone in a dark alley says "Psst... want to buy a baby penguin?".... go straight to the police.

Thanks if you have been leaving comments on my photoblog. I assure you I read every single one of them. Though over the last few days things have gotten quite busy, so I've not been able to respond personally to all of you. I do appreciate every word you write, please keep it up!

In other news, we've added a link to help you bookmark our photoblogs. You can see it on the left of this text, together with the "about me", etc links. Hope you find this feature useful.

This photoblog is updated daily. Hope to see you again tomorrow.

Nice animal. I like it!
The Maven: Hi, welcome to my photoblog! Thanks for the comments, hope you will visit often. I like your Japanese train photos.

Yes it seems we are posting the same photographic style, portraitures, except with different subjects! Seen Toga is a very upright looking penguin with a sense of high morals and an extremely ethical nature, He/she also looks very comfortable with a camera in his/her face. My daughter has just said "Oooh that's cute, is it a penguin"? Yes it is my baby!

Beautiful colors. You got a great shot here.
Is he the missing penguin ? ;-)
Lovely animal.
Great portrait of this little fellow !
The Maven: Unfortunately no. He's not the missing penguin. The kidnapped baby was never found. It's quite likely to be dead by now. Baby penguins need the care and attention of their parents in the first few weeks of their life. Without it, they cannot survive.

Meanwhile, the parents have had another chick recently. But they are about to be separated again. There's a conservation scheme that wants to release the penguins back into the while - the chick was chosen as a candidate. I suppose it's better for their species, but the parting is going to be a sad one again.

Very nice portrait. Penguins are so much fun to watch.
How lovely! Love the (close to) mono palette. Love the eyes. Like the contrast. Too bad about the beak. Keep on goin' dude!
