Superstructure

By camera phone - Part I

The main pillar of a pedestrian bridge near Canary Wharf. It was taken with my Sony Ericsson K800i camera phone.

IMHO, this is the first camera phone that's been able to deliver images of acceptable quality. In the past I've had an NEC 606, a LG 8120 and a Motorola A1000 - all had poor resolution of detail and an unnatural colour cast. They were so poor that I didn't even bother using their camera's at all.

In comparison, the K800i is a big improvement. I can see it being quite useful for photoblogging, though its not going to replace a DSLR any time soon. Noise levels of course are a tad high, but it's pretty usable in reasonable daylight. Tomorrow I will post another photo from my K800i.

OMG! A new post! wink
The Maven: Well, it's weekend and I've now a chance to breathe a little. Test on rates coming on Monday, so my blogging will be on and off. It's tough going.

You're back!! :p Been looking at this phone too but my s700i is still kinda newish hee hee. Now where are the shots with colour? grin

Hope you're back for good! How's the pHD thing coming along?
The Maven: How long is your phone contract? Mine is 12 months - and the K800i came FREE! smile I would have preferred to have a PDA phone, but no new model was available at my provider. The image quality is still 1 notch below a normal point and shoot (the gap is shrinking!), so don't rush to get a new camera phone. It's not bad as a backup though.

The Maven: The new job is mainly training at the moment. Very intensive. We've got lots of tests and presentations, so my return to blogging is not going to be regular. Cheers for the encouragement.

No question about it. Sony Ericcsons have always delivered the best phone cameras smile I use a Nokia and until the N series, it just wasn't worth it.
I think it works very well. I like this Duane.
