Micromat

By camera phone - Part IV

This is a close up shot of the clock on the microwave in my kitchen. The focus here was on the letter "M" - by the letter "T" it's starting to go out of focus.  I'm beginning to develop a liking for the black and white mode on the Sony Ericsson K800i. Not that the colour shots are bad, but the K800i brings out the contrasts exceedingly well.

A bit of touch up was done on this shot. There were a few specs of dust on the black area around the clock which have been removed. In retrospect, I should have given it a wipe before taking the shot. It looks splotchy simply because the surface isn't too clean.

duane,

i am once again impressed by the quality of your camera phone. i really like the quality of the shot. i have one critique...if possible i would try to shoot it at an angle that did not allow the light to reflect off of the clock.
The Maven: Thanks a lot for the comments Nicole. The lighting was a bit tricky for this one. The light source was actually causing my shadow to be reflected on the clock. In the end, I moved to one side and settled for this as a compromise. But you're right, it's not ideal.
