Oak Barrel

This shot was taken at Chateau de la Cassemichere, which makes Chardonnay and Muscadet wine. It is situated in the Loire valley near Nantes in France. An oak barrel such as this is used to store the wine in the cellar during the vinitrication process.

One of our friends was having her wedding banquet at the Chateau. To celebrate, the guests were treated to a free flow of Chateau de la Cassemichere wine! I drank a sensible amount - not more than 3 glasses an hour. The problem is that the wedding celebrations lasted for almost 8 hours. I'll let you do the math... my head still hurts today.

Ah Master Duane. A belated welcome back to blogging I see. And still very impressed I am. Whilst doing the math.. when did you get time to take the shot?
The Maven: I'm not too sure either - lost track after the 15th glass of wine. When I woke up with a hangover the next morning, I found some strange photos in my camera. Some were not bad, so I'm putting them up. wink

Nice texture and gray tones. I like it a lot. Perhaps a slight increase of contrast?

Welcome back bro, (where have you been hiding?)

I Like this shot, has this sort of old 50 quality to it for me, I can just imagine the men in their best tux and the ladies in their 50s wear dancing to a bit of 50's music sipping on some Chardonnay and Muscadet wine smile

Good one bro.

The Maven: I've been hiding behind the scenes wink A bit of coding here and there. Though I'm still unsure how much blogging I should be doing - less blogging means more coding time and therefore more bug fixes and new features on Shutterchance. Which do you prefer me to do? Take your pick.
Lol smile
As french i can appreciate the performance !!!!! smile

No shot today Duane? SLAP!!! hahahaha. The shot above is nice though
The Maven: Don't worry... I'll post something new tomorrow! Yesterday I was just too tried to do anything. I've got quite a few more shots from my trip to France - though many were taken at the wedding, and I don't usually like to put up portraits because of privacy reasons.

I say, if the wine's good, the math should be laid to rest tongue

The overall shot is classic. It has a old feel to it and the faint words add to the course texture. Cheers!
maven,if you eat while you drink you will be fine... the art of the spanish tapas....Nice picture.
I love these detail shots. Lovely textures!
