A close-up shot of a set of colour pencils that the Missus bought at a
100 yen shop in Japan (approx 50 pence in our money). Made in China -
it's amazing how efficiently our industry is able to extract materials
from our earth and turn them into mass produced commodities. For the
techies who are interested in this sort of thing, I actually don't have
a macro lens capable of getting this close. It was done using a 25mm
extension tube that Denosha swapped with me for a B+W lens filter. To
get the bright "high key" effect, the scene was overexposed by 1 shot,
and pushed even further during touch up.
