This shot was taken at Chateau de la Cassemichere, which makes Chardonnay and Muscadet wine. It is situated in the Loire valley near Nantes in France. An oak barrel such as this is used to store the wine in the cellar during the vinitrication process.
One of our friends was having her wedding banquet at the Chateau. To celebrate, the guests were treated to a free flow of Chateau de la Cassemichere wine! I drank a sensible amount - not more than 3 glasses an hour. The problem is that the wedding celebrations lasted for almost 8 hours. I'll let you do the math... my head still hurts today.
